March 08 – Jazz by the Beach with Hot Foot Jazz
Well Ladies, what a fantastic time it was on the water front for "March" Ladies Day! For those who couldn't make it, we were seated on the balcony,
over looking the water as we listened to the fantastic jazz and ate our wonderful lunches. There was a beautiful breeze all day and we weren't bothered by a single fly,
which is unusual but very welcome. I had a great time, my meal of chicken filled with avocado and prawns was fabulous and I even got a "surprise" prawn
(you know, when you think you have finished them all but you lift up a stray lettuce leaf and…gotta love those surprise prawns!).
Upon entry we all received a free raffle ticket (no one from Ladies Day won, but it's still a bit of fun) and our table had kindly been moved outside by the thoughtful
staff, as the instruments would've been too loud to talk over. Personally, I take that as a challenge, but I let it slide for the sake of having a nice day.
A few bungles happened with the meals, such as not explaining to Michelle that when you order the fish and chips, they go out in the boat to catch it,
but the staff were very liberal with the free drinks, which was nice. All the meals looked delicious, but silence descended when Anita's schnitzel was brought out.
I think more than a few of us would've liked to change our orders then! They do definitely get a black mark
however for offering NO DESSERT!!! ARGHHH!!! They should know better than to withhold chocolate from a mob of women with a sweet tooth!
Narelle was a sure fashion winner in her gorgeous top, it looked so cool for the hot weather and was perfectly dressed up for lunch.
Poor Stephanie and Lisa wound up with seats that put the water view at their backs, but if it makes you feel any better chicky's, both Anita and I
had headaches from the glare later on. For some reason all those litre of cheap red wine over lunch DIDN’T keep us hydrated enough, go figure?
By the way, were they twins behind the bar?
It was great to see Tracey and Lisa again and look forward to catching up with them and everyone at April's Ladies Day. Oh, I've mentioned everybody but Cathrine
and Cherie and they'll feel left out, ummmmm…Cathrine is fabulous! Cherie is the best! Okay, I’m covered! Love to you all girls and we'll see each other in April!
