THE RSVP
July 08 – Xmas in July @ Hahndorf
"Christmas in July" was a fabulous day. There were 19 of us in total and the atmosphere was just
FUN! There were presents for everyone, good food, laughter and Ladies - what more could you ask
for! We were outside but shielded from the rain and kept toastie by the heaters.
However, it did feel very strange wrapping up Kris Kringles at home, all rugged up by the fireside.
I tried very hard to organize for it to snow for Michelle, but if the coal in my Santa sack last year was
anything to go by, I don't think he was paying to much attention to my special request.
The food was heavenly and Anita benefitted greatly from the included glasses of wine that were
handed to her from all the non drinkers seated in her vicinity. I did offer to help with the place
settings, but she assured me that she had it all under control, as she snatched the seating chart
away from me..._ chuckling something about, "all the more for me..." Hmmm....
After the raffles had been drawn and I had managed to loudly state "imagine how rigged it would
look if I drew my own number!" .................. then, Surprise! Guess whose number I drew?!
(special thank you to Anita who donated, amongst other things, 5 prizes of $20 food
vouchers for KWIK STIX -one of which I won and whole heartedly endorse, by the way. The
food was fantastic and it was great run into another Lady, Michayla, there with HER won
voucher - same night, same time! - and I'm sure she loved it too)
Awesome Anita and I also took up a collection of coin donations and I'm very proud to tell all the
Ladies at Christmas in July, that we raised enough money to feed, house, clean, water, be
attended to, have medical attention, be kept warm and loved for one cat AND one rabbit for
two days EACH
