THE RSVP
April 09 Bits & Pieces @ Meadows Park/Hall
Hello Ladies! And welcome to the RSVP for the month of April.
This month saw us having a ball of a time at a Picnic in Meadows, complete with a huge bringaplate lunch, tarot readings to be had,
caricature drawings to sit for and a gorgeous assortment of jewellery to buy.
We had a last minute alteration that saw our standard picnic turned into an indoor one due to the rain- and despite the repetitive broken recordings
of a loony toons hall caretaker that would only grunt or say "it doesn't rain Meadows", Awesome Anita did manage to nab us the hall next door to our
first site that was perfect for us and kept us all dry from the wet substance that descended from above - seeing as how "it doesn't rain in Meadows",
still not quite sure what it was.
Awesome Anita and I did keep a little white lie from you all though, we didn't actually move to the hall because of the weather, we actually HAD
to move due to the fact that there were simply too many of us to fit in the field! 23! My goodness, our turn outs are getting so large that
soon we'll have to book out an airplane hanger for a simple afternoon tea.!
Whilst helping Anita set up the hall, I accidentally examined the jewellery display and nabbed the most heavenly necklace,
bookmark and other pieces for myself. I know I should have waited for all the Ladies to arrive so it would be fair, but I just thought
"what would Lady Tracy do?" and the answer presented itself- - yes, it was the pink neck lace I was wearing when I greeted you.
It's so nice being able pick and choose which Lady I should think of for moral guidance to suit the moment I whisper in peoples ears and they do naughty
things to entertain me (that's Lady Nicole), I absorb any heat source when I'm cold, whilst ignoring small children suffering hypothermia at my feet
(channelling Lady Michelle), driving illegally to get where I want to be, even if I'm driving on dead people (Lady Anita) - and the list goes on........
I wasn't the only one tempted by Hayley's fabulous jewellery; I think nearly every Lady bought a little treasure. I was really pleased with the prices
and the range was fantastic; Hayley does do parties like a Tupperware party but with shiny things, so much more fun so please email us if you'd like to
be put in touch with her to organise a party of your own; I'm definitely having one just before Christmas. Imagine, all Christmas presents done in one hit
and no car parks to face at Marion (of course, if I channel Anita, that's not a problem).
I, along with many others, had a great caricature done by Tony who also draws at the pancake kitchen a fact Lady Michelle tried to convey to Awesome Anita
via a very confusing text message. From what I gather Lady Michelle has the fastest thumbs in the west and also has the latest "text slang" honed to a fine art;
she apparently reduced a 2 hour phone conversation to four capital letters and the number 3. By sheer chance Anita booked the same person Michelle had informed
her of and we'd just like to give a big mental hug for effort and perhaps a stamp, so she can post her ideas in next time.
I thought the drawings were really brought to life by the use of watercolour, which I hadn't seen before all our blonde Ladies especially
All were good but some definitely stood out, Lady Tracy's and Awesome Lady Anita's were spot on and the addition of a "catch phrase" that they commonly use,
written at the top, was great. If you couldn't make it to Ladies Day but would like to get your own caricature done or perhaps have a different take on this years
family portrait, email us and we'll pass along Lady Michelle's mobile number for details (Note: please have a 13 year old handy for translating).
Our Tarot reader was Linda and there was probably the vastest difference in readings, in a group, that I have ever witnessed. I personally was at one end of the spectrum,
bawling my eyes out, not being asked for and not giving out any information and having the most spot on and exact reading you could ask for.
Then there were those like Lady Nicole and Lady Tracy middle of the range, some spooky stuff, and ok. To be followed up by Lady Cassie and others whose readings
were right off the mark. Of course, tarot reader Linda DID make a point of how she works best in the wet weather and seeing as it "never rains in Meadows",
her connections might have had a little trouble coming through, what with desert conditions we were experiencing according to the caretaker.
A very special welcome to our newest Ladies, Lady Cassie and Lady Blair, brought along by our very own Lady Nicole. Welcome also to Lady Mary coming along with
Lady Deb who I didn't get a chance to catch up with - too many Ladies and too little time! Catch you next month. And welcome, welcome to Lady Peggy and Lady Nerina,
attending with Lady Kylie. It's so wonderful to have so many new faces and we look forward to more friends, and "friends of friends" joining us for all the fun of Ladies Day.
Awesome Anita and I had the honour of presenting Trisha with a beautiful gift of a towering bougainvilleas
a symbolic gift for her to watch grow as she has helped us grow. Because of her, The Web page of
www.ladiesday.org has arrived!
For those of you that read about her in the messenger or heard her on the radio regarding a letter she had received from the QUEEN in response to one of her many causes
yes! This is the same Trisha! Or rather Lady Trisha now and web page designer savant. She has worked so hard for Anita and I,
even to the point of sending emails at 1.03 AM! and all so that we can now, in record time, present to the world our very own Ladies Day Webpage!
The web page has many familiar links but more will be coming on line in the coming months. This is now where you can view ALL the photos taken at the events
and viewing the RSVP at the web page will save paper and the environment too. We eventually will be posting all invites out over email as well.
Have a ball exploring the website we certainly have been every step of the way! - And be sure to tell any friends or family that have been thinking about coming along,
to log on and see what we're all about. We're always open to new ideas so please make good use of the contact email address to forward them to us.
As I have said we will be continuing to grow and change so have fun and here's the address again
www.ladiesday.org Enjoy!
The lucky winner of this months raffle prize was Lady Nicole! Who won a beautiful necklace donated by the wonderful Hayley and I have to say,
it warmed the cockles of my heart to see Lady Nicoles face light up when she realised she was holding the wining ticket well done love!
The Ladies Day LEGEND trophy survived for a whole month thanks to the care of Lady Zoe. Awesome Anita and I are also very glad to see that nothing else as been added to
"enhance" her we know it's tempting, but she is not Barbie, our LEGEND is beautiful as she is and what one winner finds fetching and funny, another winner may not.
With 63 potential LEGENDS now we feel that au naturel is the best look for her and to make all future LEGENDS feel proud to have her on display.
This months LEGEND was awarded for sheer hard work and it came to no surprise that the winner was LADY TRISHA! For her great contribution and ongoing work to
help Ladies Day reach greater and greater heights. This has been one helluva first Ladies Day for Lady Trisha!
Lastly, if we could all send thoughts of chocolate and diamonds to Lady Cathrine's bubba-to-be. She seems to be liking where she is a
little to much and Lady Cathrine would like to try carrying her in her arms instead of her tummy. So if we send messages of how great it is out here,
maybe she'll change her mind and decide to say hello.
Well my lovely Ladies, I think we've covered every second of Sunday in detail so it's time for me to sign off,
Til next month,
Love A & A
